I have been doing photography since I was a teenager. I learned darkroom work at an early age and processed black & white and colour films at home. I worked in the microfilm industry for several years using 35mm and 105mm film to publish law books on film for Harvard University and the University of California Berkeley. The UC project involved filming rare and valuable illuminated manuscripts on Canon Law, many of which were decorated in gold leaf by medieval monks. I worked in broadcast news organizations for 24 years which included the BBC and NPR.
These days I am all about photography. Using a variety of digital and classic film cameras, I work with both professional and aspiring models on conceptual photography projects. I have travelled extensively for my photography in the US and six European countries.
My locations might be in a forest, an abandoned building, a castle or church ruin in England or Ireland, the Paris Catacombs or a Goth music and arts festival in Germany.
I work with clients needing portraits or headshots for professional use. I have created production stills for independent filmmakers and documented behind-the-scenes activities for their projects. I also photograph musicians, often with their instruments in unusual locations. Because of my work in broadcasting, I have experience with video and sound recording. I can help produce HD video or audio audition reels.
I book only one client per day and we will shoot until you are happy - and I can work within most budgets. Please contact me if you would like to discuss working together.
